Introduction

The 1756-L61 Series B module is an Allen-Bradley ControlLogix processor module that uses firmware revision 13.4 or later. This module can accommodate up to 128,000 I/O maximum, 4000 analog inputs, and 2000 analog outputs. The 1756-L61 Series B module’s fixed memory capacity can be 2, 4, or 8 MB of memory. The non-volatile memory capacity is the capacity of the compact flash card that is used, and that is 128 MB of the card is the Allen-Bradley 1784-CF128 compact flash card. There is also 478 KB of I/O memory available. The 1756-L61 Series B module is protected by an open enclosure. This module can communicate through the RS-232 serial port that it comes with. It can be backed up by the Allen-Bradley 1756-BA2 battery.

The Allen-Bradley 1756-L61 Series B ControlLogix processor module can be operated or stored safely in any suitable industrial environment that has a relative humidity range between 5 and 95% as long as the humidity is non-condensing. The backplane current ratings of this ControlLogix processor module are 1.2 Amps of current at 5 Volts DC and 14 milliamps of current at 24 Volts DC. This module can handle up to 32 tasks at a time and it can also handle up to 100 programs per task. It can only be installed on certain Allen-Bradley chassis that include several Allen-Bradley 1756-A chassis. The 1756-L61 Series B module dissipates about 3.5 Watts of power and about 11.9 BTU per hour of heat. It operates at an ambient temperature between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius.
