Description
F6215 is one of the analog modules which mostly used in various types of application since it can be used for voltage, current and Pt100 signals. The appropriate front cable plug of this module to connect current and voltage signals is Z7127/6215/C../I(U1V). You can find sample connection of Pt100 and other types of analog signals to this module in the related data sheet.
F6216A in an old 8-channel module which is mainly used to connect 4-20mA two-wire transmitters and also Pt100 instruments and the suitable front cable plug of this module is Z7127/6216/C../IT.
F6217 is one of the other common analog modules which is suitable for SIL3 applications. This module is used with voltage or current analog signals and the front cable plug, used to connect 4-wire transmitters, is Z7127/6217/C../I(U5V) while the front cable plug, used to connect 2-wire transmitters, is Z7218/6217/C../ITI since power supply of transmitters is available in these plugs. More information of how you can connect voltage and current signals to these modules are explained in its data sheet.
F6220 is an 8-channel analog input module specifically used for thermocouple instruments. There is also one Pt100 input as reference temperature point in order to be used for comparison measurement. The front cable plug of this module is Z7062/6220/C../U100mV (gray) for non-EX application and Z7062/6220/EX/C../U100mV (blue) for EX applications. You can find other related information in its data sheet.
F6221 is an 8-channel analog module used in EX and SIL3 application with 8 monitoring channels for checking the transmitters’ supply voltages. It is highly recommended to read its data sheet in order to know about the appropriate front cable plug and also its connection to different types of transmitters
Block diagram
The module is automatically tested completely during operation. The main test routines are: - Switch on and switch off cability - Crosstalk of the input circuits by walking 0 test - Function of the input filters - Correct function of the module - Short circuit and wire break of the sensor line Function of LEDs are not tested.
