The Allen-Bradley 1746-OV16 module is a member of the 1746 output module series. It can be used as a digital output module for an SLC 500 system. It has 16 outputs but no inputs. It has a heat dissipation per point of 0.388W and a total heat dissipation of 7.6W. The 1746-OV16 has a removable terminal block which allows you to connect or modify the wiring on the module easily. The removable terminal block is the colored one. The black one is not removable.

The 1746-OV16 has 16 points per common. It has an operating voltage that ranges from 10 – 50V DC. It has a higher backplane current consumption (0.27 A) than the 1746-OV8 and the 1746-OVP16 modules. The 1746-OV16 has a maximum signal delay of 0.1ms in the On-state and of 1ms in the Off-state. It has a continuous current per output and per module of 0.5A and 8A at 30°C and 0.25A and 4A at 60°C, respectively. The 1746-OV16 has a maximum Off-state leakage of 1Ma and a maximum On-state voltage drop of 1.2V at 0.5A and 3A for 10ms maximum surge current per point.

This will help you understand how to do the wiring and how to make any further preparations before installation. Keep in mind that you are not allowed to do any to attempt to install, wire, or remove the module when it is powered on.y inverted logic. This NOT instruction is available with the RSLogix 500 programming software, which is the common program development software for the entire SLC 500 product family.
