Emerson's ClarksonTM KS1 knife gate valve is a true two-way sealed, full bore, ASME 150-pound valve, designed for severe heavy-duty slurry conditions. Its patented advanced sealing system can achieve longer-lasting zero-leakage and tight shut-off, thereby extending operating time and increasing output
Shanghai time (April 13, 2021)-Emerson today announced the launch of the new Clarkson KS1 knife gate valve, designed to help operators such as mines, oil sands, pulp, and paper to achieve higher availability in challenging slurry processes.
This brand-new knife gate valve adopts a patented gate edge sealing design, with a precision-manufactured elastic valve seat, which can form a continuous seal around the gate. Compared with the standard O-ring design, this heavy-duty valve seat increases the contact area and elastic sealing capacity of the valve, prolongs the service life of the valve, and has a tight shut-off performance during the entire life cycle of the valve.
The design of the valve is particularly suitable for medium conditions with severe slurry. Its full circular flow channel eliminates the interference to the inflowing medium, reduces the turbulence flowing through the valve, and reduces the wear of the valve and downstream equipment. Reversible and rotatable wear rings are standard on both sides of the valve to protect the valve seat and extend the maintenance interval.
In the design process of KS1, the maintenance team also played an extremely important role. The valve can be repaired using standard tools and common spare parts. Maintenance personnel can adjust the packing system from the outside, dynamically self-adjusting the pressure of the ramming edge sealing system. The face-to-face structure length of KS1 meets the MSS SP-135 standard, and the original valve with poor performance can be easily replaced and upgraded.
The Clarkson KS1 knife gate valve is sturdy and durable and is very suitable for severe slurry conditions. Its size ranges from 2" to 30", and there are a variety of flange connections to choose from. At ambient temperature, the rated pressure of the ASME 150 pound knife gate valve is 290 psi, and the maximum temperature can reach 148.9゜C. The valve also provides component materials suitable for more severe wear and corrosion conditions, and various automatic control components can be selected according to needs.
Mr. Mike Gordon, Head of Emerson Knife Gate Valve Business, said: “The Clarkson KS1 knife gate valve is a compelling and innovative product for operators of heavy-duty slurry applications such as tailings production lines. This valve is specifically designed for heavy-duty applications. The slurry achieves zero leakage and tight shut-off under severe conditions so that the process can run uninterrupted for a longer period of time, thereby increasing production and minimizing valve maintenance costs."
